Nice piano going on in this track, the build to the more bass part is really nice as well. the "random" 1:48 subtle (almost like someone is talking) is a really good touch. I almost wonder what this would sound like with a Reese bass. Nevertheless you did really good with this considering the amount of time you had to make it! Keep it up :)

HaydeMusic responds:

Thanks alot for the review! And I'm glad you noticed the little details in this song haha

The sounds are amazing, very atmospheric and I felt dragged in once the song started. I haven't been able to really create a good acoustic guitar sound and you nailed it on this how did you do it?
The pad is very good, once the higher pitched pad came in it fit very well. This wasn't just a song, this told a story.

I'm really curious how you made the acoustic guitar, I feel that's really hard to make in my experience.

Moinontoi responds:

I used my friend's Martin guitar, micced it with an AKG C214 on the soundhole and a Sennheiser e914 on the neck, and recorded it through a FocusRite audio interface into ProTools 10.

I love the chord progression in this! The piano sound you chose fits it well. The intro is very well done.
The synth that comes in around 1:00 is very fitting for the theme of this (alien like)

Few changes I suggest:
00:09 - The hi-hat that starts here sounds slightly generic, I'd suggest adding effects possibly and lowering the volume slightly might do it justice.
00:47 - I feel the snare could use a lot more life, maybe a high end boost to make it sound more crisp.

Not sure why this has such a low score, it isn't bad at all :).

P.S.
Reddit for life :P

TIMETRAVL responds:

Thank you man, I appreciate it, i will work on it !

Sounds like it could be a really good atmospheric scene track almost, the voices could made use some more EQ and leveling to prevent clipping but it's not too badly made.

Very post-apocalyptic sounding, once the atmospheric track started playing it was really good. Almost like having someone uglier stand next to you so you look amazing in comparison type deal. If I were to give advice for this to make it great, I'd take out the intro completely because you might get some bad stars due to people not listening all the way through to discover the more beautiful piece.

AlbertAnderson responds:

Thanks

Starting out with the drums was kinda weird to me, if that was cut out and it started with the synth that would have made it better in my opinion. I see a lot of potential keep it up!

JayBunny responds:

Alright, thanks for the feedback :3

Only one thing I could say, It sounds like "Dance with me right now" and not "Dance for me right now" for the lyrics every time it comes up. It's nothing big at all though.

Other than that it sounded really good man, Keep it up!! Made me want to go check out your other submissions because of how good it sounded. Definitely plenty of unheard of talent here!

I've always wanted to try to get into songwriting and incorporating vocals with my tracks, is there any tips you could give for someone that can make the quality of the vocals that much better?

MistyE responds:

Thanks for listening! It's actually "Dance with me right now," I just made a mistake in the lyrics. I'm glad you liked what you heard! I personally use heavy compression on my vocals, and I've found that tweaking the EQ so the mid-highs are more prominent gives the vocals more clarity.

This is beautiful, not what I would have expected (as in I've rarely found an amazing song such as this in the R4R thread)

Anyways, I can see this build into something amazing, I can also hear a nice smooth Frission inducing intro to this. The hi-hat sound seems a little loud to me but that's about it, I say this is really close to a final version!

Dj-Gonzo responds:

Wow, thanks for these words, I always appreciate them. Glad to see you unexpected this one. I will work hard to improve as much as possible the quality of the final version. In the meantime, if you wanna keep updated, follow me if you want ;)

Pro:
Very nice beat, I really thought it flowed with the "dark/evil" theme you are looking for
Nice choice of synth, reminds me almost of Super Mario 64 - Bowser's theme track which gives the same theme.
I really like it!
Con:
There's basically 2 things that I might have done to give the song more power:
I felt like the reverb on the drums were a little heavy for me (too over powering) and it took away from the sound
and EQ on the main synth I felt needed to be worked on, kind of like making it more sharp specially with the distortion already in play. With making the synth more on the sharp/higher end if you wanted to then balance that with a low end bass (3xosc should do the trick)!

Other than that I felt you nailed the dark/evil theme with the instrument choice and structure!

AEOK responds:

I feel ya. I was thinking the same thing about that higher register. Thanks for the feedback.

This has a really good atmosphere to it! It makes me feel like I'm ballroom dancing with my S/O alone during a stormy night. Rose pedals all over the hardwood floors. Very romantic sounding and overall beautiful in my ears.

10/10 would listen again!

On another note, very accurate, feelings are hard to understand and so is this track. Sometimes crazy and sometimes blissful.
